Influence…

“The capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.

. . .

INFLUENCE. …such a big, complicated word that many people don’t like to use because they don’t really understand it.
And, I know this is true because I googled it, and the following questions popped up. These questions inspired me to write this post with my thoughts and answers to them.

. . .

  • What is an influencer?

Literally, ANYONE!

  • Who can I influence?

Anyone, whoever you think you can teach and influence.
Usually you end up influencing the people around you the most, without even realizing.

  • Why are some people better influencers?

It all depends on their confidence level and the passion they’re inspiring into others.
People notice confident and positive individuals because that’s what everyone strives for in life. (You can’t expect people to follow you if you’re always negative.)

  • Am I an influencer?

YES! Of course! You influence people everyday without even realizing it (by the way you act, dress, talk, etc.). That’s why you should always strive to be your best around others because they WILL notice, and it might even inspire them.

  • How do I become an influencer?

You already are one! 😉
Just by being you, and doing what you love with confidence and passion.

You don’t need to do anything special to influence people.
You just gotta be your best, confident and passionate self, and people will start to notice your positivity, and they will ask you for your secrets.

That’s the best influencer!

Being 100% yourself, without thinking about what others might think of you (that’s the secret to being a great influencer).

So, if you really want to become an amazing influencer; start by working on your confidence and passions because people will notice, and they WILL take notes.
And, remember:

You influence people everyday,
so make sure you bring your best self forward everyday!
And, wake up everyday thinking about how you can
be a light / breath of fresh air in someone’s day!

In my thoughts…

There’s so much happening up there.
All the time.
It never shuts off.
It’s always running at a million miles an hour.

I wish it would just turn off.
I need a break.
From all of them.
I just want peace for a minute.

I just can’t anymore

They don’t even agree with each other

They’re all over the place

I don’t know how to respond

. . .

It feels so much better.
When it finally slows down,
And let’s me breathe.

Surroundings… (Weekend Coffee Share)

Have you ever just sat somewhere and just observed your surroundings?

. . .

Ya, me neither.
…Until a few hours ago…

And, that’s what I’m gonna talk about in this weekend’s coffee share because a few days ago I saw this one-word prompt idea, and the word was surroundings. So, during that day, I couldn’t help but observe my surroundings. And, here’s what I noticed:

. . .

1- I was just sitting on the bus, when I realized that I never actually notice my surroundings. I’m usually just looking out the window, listening to music & waiting to arrive at my stop; just like most of the people I’m noticing right now.

2- I’m seeing all these people on the bus, heading to different places, with a different purpose.
They’re all, either, reading the newspaper, reading a book, texting, listening to music, sleeping, eating breakfast, etc.

3- I’m hearing some people talk about their week, if they know each other from seeing each other everyday.

4- I’m realizing that we are all sitting (or standing, if it’s crowded) on this bus for the same reason (to get somewhere).

5- All I can really understand is that we all need to get somewhere, & we don’t want to drive, or we don’t own a car.

6- I feel weird watching people because no one really interacts (except for the handful of people that do). But, I guess everyone is in their own world, so they won’t even notice someone starring at them (I’m not really starring, just glancing at people around me). They probably don’t even know I’m looking at them.

7- From watching everyone, I’m starting to just realize that we’re all just tired from our day & we just want to get home (Or it’s too early to interact with other humans).

All this, noticing my surroundings in this bus, got me thinking; What if the bus was free, & the only catch was that you had to talk to someone until your stop (at least just say hi)?

Just for some insight…
Where I live, the bus cost is $2.50. And, most people take the bus twice a day (to and from work), at least 5 to 6 days per week. That’s $25-$30 dollars every week. Which adds up to $100-$120 dollars per month.

So, in other words, everyone on this bus spends around $100 every month to sit and stare out the window. But, I now realize that it’s cheaper than gas for your car; and you’re technically saving the environment.

So, observing my surroundings made me realize that even though everyone seems to just be sitting in their own little bubble on the bus waiting to get to their stop, they are all contributing to saving the environment. And with gas prices now, they are actually saving money.

So, everyone I’ve observed on this bus actually have more in common than I thought.

I hope this post was insightful and gave you some food for thought about perspective on the little & overlooked things in life.

*Your surroundings are important; don’t overlook them; they can teach you a lot!*

Travel…

If you love those things as much as I do, and you also love to travel and explore new places, check out this program to find your next amazing adventure:

GreenHeartTravel

I also copied my review of the program I did below:

Program: Teach English in a home-stay in Chile (for 3 months, in my case. But, you can choose from 1, 2 or 3 months.)
My experience with this program was amazing! I loved every second of my life in Chile! I loved getting to know my host family, and watch their English improve more and more each day! I loved learning about their culture, and teaching them about mine! I loved getting to see another culture in action (while being completely submersed in it). The bond I formed with my host family during this program is the one thing I will never forget about this experience!
My experience with this program changed my view on the world because it made me more aware of the world around me and how many things we take for granted each day (that other people barely even have access to).
This experience also helped me strengthen my Spanish skills and my teaching skills; which are two things I now know I definitely want to use in the future.
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone just looking to travel and make new friends abroad, while making a difference in such a simple, yet very important, way.
Teaching English abroad is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

I hope that you find a great country to visit (and, maybe even a program) that’s perfect for you!
Have an amazing next adventure!

Oh, and, I hope that this video: My Trip to Chile! (Part 5) encourages you to travel to Chile (or even South America) because I 100% recommend it!

Put in the work!

d433fef056372e0edadafaf4af5626e1--fitnessmotivation-so-true

You can’t just put in work when you feel like it.
Success won’t come overnight.
Your dreams won’t accomplish themselves.

Whatever it is that you want to accomplish; YOU have to put in the work EVERYDAY!
Results come with consistency and patience!

. . .

I’ve been living in Chile for 2 months and I can truly say that putting in the work is 100% worth it.
There are days (especially during my first month of living here) when I don’t feel like trying to speak Spanish, and as a result, during the day I feel lost and alone. I’m not trying to understand what people are saying and I don’t feel like trying to speak (my broken) Spanish, and as a result, I isolate myself.
But, during the days when I put in the work to listen and speak Spanish, I start to feel like I actually kind of fit in because I’m consciously listening and understanding to what people are saying and I actively try to speak Spanish the best I can and I start to feel understood and less alone.

. . .

Anyways, this post is just your Sunday reminder that whatever you want to accomplish this week, you can’t just sit there and say: “I’ll get there 1 day, I have all week anyways.”.
You have to get up now and actively work for what you want!

Putting in the work will always lead to great things!
