Love, Abba (a letter)

Dear wonderful child,

Oh, how I love you!
How I love waking you up in the morning.
How I love tucking you in at night.
You’re my most prized creation.
You will always be enough for me.
You never have to earn my love.
My grace is enough for you.
You are always perfect in my eyes.

Your identity is in Me, and
it will always remain pure.
“I will pick you up, and
point you in the right direction,
knowing full well that
you’ll never reach perfection.
And, when you wonder to yourself,
“will I ever be enough?”,
Just know, you’ve already been given
My authentic love!”

(“Authentic Love by Ryan Drendel”)
I will always be here,
providing, caring, and protecting,
ready for you to run into my arms.

Love, Abba

Thanks for reading! I hope this letter and these songs speak to you, and help you discover, and experience this true, authentic love that can change your life, and fill you with so much purpose!

P.S. Here’s a song that really helped me experience & accept this true, authentic love:

Your thoughts define me
You’re inside me
You’re my reality
Abba, I belong to you!”

Godly Expectations Released

What can I do?
How can I live rightly?
When will it be enough?

You’ve probably asked yourself these questions before (at least once).
Well, here’s a poem with the answer to how you can truly fulfill God’s expectations:

There’s nothing
you can do.
It will never
be enough.

Stop placing overwhelming
expectations on yourself
to please God
and others.

He never expects
anything – ever.
Just pure love and
mustard seed sized faith.

Don’t ruin
His perfection
by making Him
unattainable.

He loves you
simply because
that’s just
who He is.

No expectations
or other motives.
Just simple – perfect
fatherly love.

Stop putting Him
in a box
that’s out of reach and
start accepting His love!

Thanks for reading!
I hope this encouraged you to release your expectations of yourself, others, and God; and start living in perfect freedom with Him.

This poem was inspired by THIS SONG!

A poem about evangelism

Just tell them!

One smile
Instead of words
Is enough
And, so simple

Just tell them!

One word
More than enough
To speak
Life over someone

Just tell them!

One sentence
All it takes
To explain
The good news

Just tell them!

One truth
Of unfailing love
Is greater
Than the world

Thanks for reading!
I hope this poem encouraged you, & reminded you that telling others about the truth & love is as simple as a smile!

The Endless Cycle of Constant Failure

I keep failing
Yet you forgive me
Over and over again

I keep straying
Yet you look after me
Everyday

I forget about you
Yet you never forget me
Never

I try to do it on my own
Yet you still look after me
No matter what I do

I try to hide my shame
Yet you show me it
And you forgive me right away

I constantly apologize
Yet you always welcome me back
With open arms

I say: “It won’t happen again.”
Yet you know it will
And you’ve already forgiven me

I’m tired of this constant failure
Yet you never tire
Of loving me

I want to leave
Yet you tell me to stay
With you

I want to give up
Yet you still believe in me
Enough to make me try again and again

I try to earn my way
Yet I’m learning
You don’t work that way

I fail many times
Yet you’re always there to catch me
And forgive and love me

I think I’ve failed too many times
Yet you reassure me that I haven’t failed enough
And that I never will

But, why?
Why are you so good to me?

Here’s the answer I’ve found to that question (it’s also what inspired this post):

Thanks for reading!
I hope this post sparks you to think about the bigger picture.
I promise adventure posts are coming! I’m just in a thinking frame of mind lately before I start my next adventure!

We Remember

We complain
We cry
We fight
We try
We give thanks
We realize
We forget

We remember
For one minute per year
On that one day
We are silent

We think
That’s enough
Let’s move on
Now is our time

Maybe we should…

Let’s just forget-
That’s it, right?
Or, is it-
Lest we forget?

Apologies & Promises (A Letter)

*I’m writing this for Mother’s Day, but it can also work for Father’s Day.*
It can pretty much work for any day (i just recently got inspired).

Dear mom / dad (or anyone else),

I just want to apologize for some things:

I’m sorry for ever letting you down.
I’m sorry for ever doubting you.
I’m sorry for ever being scared.
I’m sorry for ever letting fear & doubt take over.
I’m sorry for all the times I hurt you.
I’m sorry for all the times I failed when you believed in me.
I’m sorry for ever being inconsistent without valid reason.
I’m sorry for ever lying to you.
I’m sorry for ever taking you for granted.
I’m sorry for ever offending you.
I’m sorry for not always trusting you.
I’m sorry for ever giving up on you when things got tough.
I’m sorry for ever yelling at you.
I’m sorry for ever rejecting your love.
I’m sorry for ever rejecting your grace.
I’m sorry for ever tarnishing your faith in me.
I’m sorry for ever breaking your trust.
I’m sorry for ever walking away.
I’m sorry for ever not being good enough.
I’m sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you.
I’m sorry for ever rejecting you.
I’m sorry for not being the best child you could of asked for.
I’m sorry for ever…ything! – I am so sorry for everything!

Now, I want to promise some things:

I promise to always trust & have faith in you.
I promise to never let you down again.
I promise to face all my fears.
I promise to be more consistent.
I promise to always tell you the truth.
I promise to never take you for granted anymore.
I promise to love you forever without conditions.
I promise to accept your amazing love & grace.
I promise to never walk away again.
I promise to try to be good enough.
I promise to not cause you anymore pain.
I promise to be the best child that I can be.
I promise to all those things from the bottom of my heart.
One last promise: I promise to try my very best to keep all those promises because I, now, understand your unconditional love for me.

So, all there is to say now is: Thank You!
Thank you for always loving me, no matter what. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you. Thank you for never doing to me what I did to you. You are truly amazing. You are my role-model. You make me want to be the best version of myself.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

I hope this letter encouraged you because we all have things to apologize for (to someone), & we should all make more promises that we actually try to keep.
And, we all need to start saying; “Thank You” more often.
-If you can relate to anything above, comment below with the apology, promise or thank you that you would say to your mom or dad (or someone else).

-LiveForAdventure! 🙂

P.S. This letter was originally intended to be: A Prayer to God, but while writing it, I realized that it can work for anyone because apologies, promises, & thank you’s are very underrated in today’s world & we need more of them.
