As I sit here under the stars starring at the moon watching the clouds go by listening to my best friend I can’t help but be intrigued by the metaphor in front of me in the brightness of the moon
It just keeps shinning no matter how dark the clouds get or how many clouds cover it it never dims it’s light
That’s the metaphor
And that’s what I’m learning and striving to be more like the moon
To never let the darkness dim my light
Thanks for reading! I hope this poem inspired you to keep shinning; even in the darkest of places & times because the Light of the world can live inside of you. And, when it does, your light will never fade!
This post was inspired by the picture on this post, this song, (and Christmas time)! 🙂
wishing dreaming hoping for simpler times to come back when everything was so much better can we rewind to those times the memories are fading I can’t remember what it used to be like I just wanna go back to those moments where no cares were had and no pain was felt the moments when everything seemed perfect what happened to that perfection to that bliss where did those moments go when did the pain get real when did this chaos begin where did time go what happened to the laughter why did everyone leave my heart aches for simpler times
times when jumping in a pile of leaves was the highlight of my day
I miss the days when I had no worries and no doubts when life was simpler and happier those simpler times are just a distant memory now that I can’t get back no matter what those days are gone
I guess I just gotta embrace the now the times today simple or not this is the present let’s make it a gift live in the moment hopeless or hopeful these times are all I have now is the time to embrace this moment
embrace the now miss the simpler times that’s just life it goes on miss the simpler times but keep moving forward to better things remaining hopeful for better times
Thanks for reading! I hope this inspired you to remember the simpler times behind you, and to keep looking forward to create more good times. Let’s go into 2021 with hopeful eyes, and big dreams that we can’t wait to conquer this new year!

Thanks for reading! I hope this poem inspired you to start looking at yourself & the world around you with the eyes of the creator of the universe!
P.S. The picture above has a pretty deep story behind it that I was going to share in this post, but then I decided to leave this poem as it is, and make another post about the story behind that picture (this is just a sneak peak into that story). Check back next week for the full story behind that picture!
I am sculpting strengthening growing your lungs making them perfect strong and bigger than ever because I need you to tell the world about me through your story
I am changing re-molding re-shaping your heart making it heavy and giving it the desires of my heart because I want you to follow my plan for you and love others as I love you
Thanks for reading! I hope this reminded you that change is necessary for growth; but you can’t grow if you don’t embrace it! When you embrace change, that’s when amazing things start to happen in your life!
So, I’ve recently gone through a pretty testing season of life. And, I’ve learned that the only way to win battles is to fight them the right way.
But, before I go into the details, here’s a poem I wrote during this past season:
Dear God, I’m done I’m giving up I can’t carry this anymore I have nothing left The world couldn’t fill What I’m searching for But I still can’t Seem to find it Dear God, Help me Fight this battle Take this weight From my shoulders It’s killing me I’m done with the world I’m done searching Show me your truth Reveal your glory to me Dear God, Please Don’t make me wait Forgive me Restore me in your love Fill me with peace Show me your grace Help me see you Be my answer Dear God, I’m done searching For temporary answers In the world Because You are the answer I’ve been looking for This whole time You were there Waiting for me To find you Dear God, Thank you For waiting For me To come And find you In the midst Of the chaos You are And will always Be near
You see, I used to get really anxious in uncomfortable situations. And, I mean, REALLY anxious; I would bite my nails A LOT, and start to shut down to the people around me. I still currently have no nails while typing this, but they’re growing back, slowly (just like my relationships with some people)… Anyways, this past season or my life (the past 6 months) have been teaching me a lot about how to fight my battles in a positive, and productive way.
I’ve learned that fighting my battles is impossible alone; my own strength is not enough (that causes me to bite my nails a lot), and even when people help me, they can’t fully win the battle (especially spiritual battles). The only way I can truly win all my battles is by fighting them with God. He is the ultimate protector in my battles, and He gives me everything I need to win all my battles. And,this song has been an amazing reminder, and encourager for me, so I hope it inspires you as well.
Thanks for reading! I hope this post was insightful and encouraging to your soul; and that it filled your spirit with a new sense of hope for your battles.
If you don’t know where I’ve been for the past 4 months, check out this post before reading the following story.
Running Chasing Catching Finding Discovering Learning Building Working Crying Smiling Laughing Hiding Hurting Thinking Talking Processing Praying
Popping Breaking Destroying Tearing Shattering
This is my story from the past 4 months about how I discovered my true freedom by popping bubbles:
You see, before coming to YWAM (Youth with a Mission) to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School), I used to have these bubbles. They were safe places where I could go to hide, where I could go to just feel safe, and where I could go to get away from everything. And, I was content in my own little world surrounded by these bubbles. Or, so I thought…
“Please don’t pop my bubbles!”
I felt content with my bubbles because they gave me a sense of safety. I liked looking at their beauty because they made me feel loved. I enjoyed their peacefulness because they made me feel comforable.
But, these bubbles would also really hurt me. I wouldn’t be able to let people get too close because they would pop them. Letting people get close enough to pop them seemed like a good and productive idea, but it never was because they never knew which bubbles to pop at the right time. They just wanted to pop them all right away before I was ready, which led to me being hurt often.
“Some people have no self-control with bubbles.”
So, during the past 4 months, I’ve been slowly learning that I am the one that gets to decide when I’m ready to pop a bubble. When I know I’m ready to pop a bubble, that’s when I can let others in to help and encourage me in the process. I’ve learned that I can’t just let people get close enough and expect them to not pop any bubbles. So, I need to know when the right time for me is to let people get close enough to avoid being hurt by them choosing which bubbbles to pop in their timing.
“Stop! That’s too much, too fast; slow down please!”
So, I’ve learned that in order to let people get close enough, I need to start popping these bubbles on my own (with help & support) because it’s the only way I will feel ready to pop each bubble. I’ve discovered that only when I’m truly ready to pop a bubble / get rid of something will I feel complete freedom from it.
“It won’t hurt if you’re ready.”
Sometimes I might think I’m not ready, but that’s when I learn how much power fear has in my decisions. Sometimes it takes others to encourage the popping of bubbles.
Freedom won’t be comfortable at first; it takes courage to allow hurt to enter our lives. But, when we start seeing the process of popping bubbles as an exciting and joyful time, we forget about the hurt because we start to see our life in a new, clear way; without the distraction of bubbles.
“Freedom is right in from of you! But, will you choose it?”
Freedom is an interesting concept because they say it’s freely given to you, and you can take it when you want. But, they fail to mention how much it hurts to actually receive it because it costs’ your total comfort. But, that’s when you have to ask yourself:
“Is freedom worth your comfort?”
Well, during the past 4 months, I’ve learned that my answer is definitely YES. I’ve decided that I am fully willing to step out of my comfort zone to gain freedom because it’s so worth it, and at the end of the day I can’t hold onto them forever anyway. I’ve realized that if giving-up my self-made comforts is all I need to do to receive true freedom then, I am willing to pop any bubbles that stop me from receiving this amazing freedom.
And, that’s my story from the past 4 months.
Thanks for reading! I hope this inpsired you to think about the things in your life that could be holding you back from receiving true freedom. If I’ve learned anything during this time, it’s that: TRUE FREEDOM IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR COMFORT!

That girl in the picture Standing there Smilling through the pain Just living life
That girl in the picture She never could’ve Known or imagined What was coming
That girl in the picure Looking at the world Blind to the future She had no idea
That girl in the picture She couldn’t even Begin to prepare For this!
How could she know? How could she prepare? How could she see?
She didn’t have a map – Or a to-do list. She just needed time.
Time is the key Everything unfolds so quickly
Time to remember & forget And, process it all
That girl in the picture Wasn’t ready for this
So, give her time!
Thanks for reading! I hope this poem inspired you to slow down & give yourself time to take a moment to enjoy life!
For the original picture: CLICK HERE! P.S. The featured picture on this post was the inspiration for this poem because when looking at it, I was reminded of who I was in that moment, & I realized how different I used to be. It reminded me to be kind to myself because we all need time to process through life.
The lies are gone Truth has won I’ve been set free from doubts
Broken love has vanished Peace has won I’ve stopped running
Quitting has no place here Comfort has won I’ve found my home
Hiding places have disappeared Light has won I’ve started shinning
Thanks for reading! I hope this post encouraged you to come out of hiding because life really is so much better when you are free! Don’t hide who you are because it’s only hurting you; God is waiting for you to realize that you have been found! He is greater than all your fears; stop hiding & trust Him!
I heard the call I answered the call I fulfilled the call
I don’t understand the call I don’t feel the call I don’t see the call
I know I heard the call I know I’m supposed to be here I know this is right
I don’t know why I don’t know what I’m doing I don’t know; what if I’m wrong?
You see, hearing & understanding the call are two different things. You can hear it so clearly, & still not understand what it means.
That’s my life right now. I heard the call & I answered it, but I don’t know what I’m doing. So, I’m learning that this is where faith plays a big role in answering the call. It all comes back to trust; trusting that saying yes to the call will always lead to something great.
Thanks for reading! I hope this inspired to always keep the faith because something good will eventually come from it.
These scars won’t last They might hurt now The pain just feels too real Will they ever go away?
These scars cut deep They are changing you You can barely think anymore Will it ever become normal again?
These scars are opening a new chapter They could become positive But, right now, they feel deadly Will it ever feel good?
These scars have taken something from you Maybe it’s happiness, or sadness Or, innocence, or willingness Or, maybe even your life?
But, even with these scars You are still here There’s still time So, what will you do now?
“These scars is a metaphorical poem I wrote during a confusing time in my life. The scars mentioned (while they could be real scars) represent past mistakes/memories that will never be forgotten, and that are constantly haunting and hurting.”
Thank you for reading to the end! I hope this poem encourages you to turn your scars into amazing things for your future selfbecause it’s never too late!
When I started this blog, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. But now, I love writing, and I love the community that comes with it. I also didn’t realize people would actually read my blog, let alone like it enough to nominate me for awards (I know these awards are not mandatory, so when I get nominated I always take the time to do it because I feel so grateful, and I want to keep the award train moving forward). So, thank you Emma & Nathan’s Travels. I really appreciate the nomination!
Although a blogger doesn’t really need to participate in any award nominations, I don’t mind as it gives me a chance to show my appreciation to other bloggers. Plus, it’s free exposure should you wish to participate. Now, for the rules:
Put the award logo on your blog.
Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog, etc.)
My answers to Emma & Nathan’s Travels Questions:
1- What is your favourite destination so far and why?
That’s a difficult question; there’s always one thing I love from every destination. But, if I had to choose, I would say: Belize (mostly because I went off the grid, with no connection for a week, and it felt great, and was very refreshing and relaxing). And, also because it’s a beautiful country that not enough people know about!
2- Why did you start, and why do you continue blogging?
I started blogging while I was living in the small town of Jasper, Alberta, Canada (for 6 months). I was working and living on site at a lodge in the middle of the highway/woods, with not much to do around (except for hiking, and thinking). And, I started thinking a lot about my purpose, which made me feel very insignificant. So, one day I decided it would be a good idea to start a blog (it always seemed interesting to me, and now I had time). At the time, the blog was a way to just write and share my thoughts to see if anyone else could relate. My first posts were not at all about traveling or inspirational, but I continued blogging because I started enjoying it (I never realized how much I actually liked writing, it seemed so boring in school). Now, it was actually fun! I continue blogging today because I love writing about my adventures, and sharing them with others. I love traveling and I want to inspire others to step out of their comfort zone and travel as well. I also love reading and following other blogs. And, I love the small community I’ve formed, that follows my blog and adventures.
3- Is your blog as successful as it you’d hoped, or is it still a working progress?
Definitely still a work in progress. But, then again, I don’t really know how successful I planned for it to be. I started it on a whim, so I didn’t really think about the “success”. I just kinda liked having a place to write, where other people could read it, and hopefully get inspired. So, in that way, I guess you could say that it’s more successful now, than I originally thought because more people are reading my blog.
4- Upload your favourite photo from your blog and describe why.
I like this photo because it was one of my first pictures I posted on this blog. And, it was taken at the same time than when I started this blog. And, it depicts what I was feeling when I started this blog (small and insignificant). In a way, it’s my reminder of how far I’ve come (which I think is what the post with this pictures was about…).
5- Describe something about yourself that isn’t mentioned in your blogs.
My dream job is to become a flight attendant. It’s been my dream ever since I can remember (since I was 4 or 5 years old). I’ve always found it interesting and exciting. And, now I that I’ve traveled abroad more and learned more languages, I realize that it still really is my ultimate dream job.
6/7- How do you manage your time when it comes to blogging? Do you write posts and schedule them for publication or do you write as you go?
It depends. I don’t have a blogging schedule (I can post up to 10 times in a month, and then go a whole month without posting). If I have a lot of inspiration (and time), I will write a bunch of posts, and schedule them. But, if I’m busy, and only get inspired on the spot (like with this post), I will write and post it on the spot because I don’t want to forget (and it doesn’t deserve to be scheduled), so I write and post it as soon as possible.
It doesn’t matter if you were a pro at all those things in your home country because everything will be different in a foreign country.
Yes, there will be similarities, and you will learn the differences quickly. But, you will still need to learn the best place to grocery shop, the best method of transportation to get around (bus, subway, taxi), and the currency (so you know when something is overpriced).
And, on top of discovering all those things, you will need to learn a foreign language.
AND, while you are learning ALL that, you also need to deal with homesickness and culture shock (at least for the first few months).
Now, I’m not saying all this to scare you. I personally have been loving my experience living abroad. I’m telling you all this so you know what’s coming: A LOT OF WORK AND DEDICATION! But, it’s 100% worth it.
Yes, there will be ups and downs. There will be days where you won’t want to speak the language (you’ll get tired of needing to train your brain in a foreign language everyday). There will be days where you’ll just want to do nothing. But, those days are the best because they will teach you the most. If you power through those days, you will realize how worth it, it is, to learn to adult/live in a foreign country. It will make it that much easier for your return to your home country. Adulting/living in a foreign country is an amazing, life-changing experience.
It really is LIFE-CHANGING because after you live in a foreign country for more than 2 or 3 months, your view of everything changes. But, the only way to understand this life-changing experience is to live it yourself! So, step out of your comfort zone & live this amazing experience!
Thanks for reading!
I hope this inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and change your perspective!

“The capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.“
. . .
INFLUENCE. …such a big, complicated word that many people don’t like to use because they don’t really understand it.
And, I know this is true because I googled it, and the following questions popped up. These questions inspired me to write this post with my thoughts and answers to them.
. . .
What is an influencer?
Who can I influence?
Anyone, whoever you think you can teach and influence.
Usually you end up influencing the people around you the most, without even realizing.
Why are some people better influencers?
It all depends on their confidence level and the passion they’re inspiring into others.
People notice confident and positive individuals because that’s what everyone strives for in life. (You can’t expect people to follow you if you’re always negative.)
Am I an influencer?
YES! Of course! You influence people everyday without even realizing it (by the way you act, dress, talk, etc.). That’s why you should always strive to be your best around others because they WILL notice, and it might even inspire them.
How do I become an influencer?
You already are one! 😉
Just by being you, and doing what you love with confidence and passion.
You don’t need to do anything special to influence people.
You just gotta be your best, confident and passionate self, and people will start to notice your positivity, and they will ask you for your secrets.
That’s the best influencer!
Being 100% yourself, without thinking about what others might think of you (that’s the secret to being a great influencer).
So, if you really want to become an amazing influencer; start by working on your confidence and passions because people will notice, and they WILL take notes. And, remember:
You influence people everyday,
so make sure you bring your best self forward everyday!
And, wake up everyday thinking about how you can
be a light / breath of fresh air in someone’s day!
Thanks for reading!
I hope this post influenced you into being a better influencer!
Look around. What do you see? Chaos or peace? Yelling or praying? What is surrounding you?
. . .
Do you appreciate it all?
Or do you take advantage of it?
Are you humbled by it?
Or are you overlooking it all?
Do you care about others?
Or, do you say:
“Everyone for themselves!”
“You gotta make your own life!”
Are you a helper?
Or, a hater?
Do you appreciate the world we live in?
Or, do you constantly think it’s trash;
That we created,
And, you don’t think it can be cleaned up.
Are you an optimist?
Or, a pessimist?
Where do you draw the line?
Between, good and bad?
. . .
Where SHOULD we draw the line?
Between, good and bad?
What defines “good”?
What makes something “bad”?
Is it in the perspective?
Or, is it just a fact?
Why are some things considered “good”?
And, other things considered “bad”?
Between killing and loving?
We know which is better,
by the way it feels.
But, what about?
Between loving or helping?
They both feel “good”..
But, can they really both BE “good”?
Think about it this way:
Some people don’t want help,
So, that’s their “bad” one; while others –
Don’t like love because they’ve never truly felt it.
So, can some things be, both, good and bad?
Is it really just all in the perspective of the person?
. . .
There’s never just one way to look at something. There’s always a different perspective. There will always be someone with a different opinion, and, that’s what makes life so great & interesting. Meeting people with different perspectives, and, learning about their views on life.
That’s why I love to travel. It makes me feel so blessed. And, happy. And, accomplished.
I want to learn, and experience as many perspectives as I can, good and bad. So, I can see the world through a different type of blessed, and see how truly blessed I am.
Thanks for reading!
I hope this post inspired you to never take life for granted, and to:
Well, that was unexpected! Why did that happen? I feel so disconnected!
. . .
Life throws plenty of plot twists. They are always confusing. And, they seem to always persist.
There’s no perfect reaction. But, that’s the point. They give you a new fascination.
It’s like reading a good book – Everything the characters do is surprising, but you keep reading, and don’t overthink or overlook.
You know, the author had a point. They were purposely plot twisting, to try to be interesting, and not disappoint.
That should always be our reaction – To unexpected moments in life. Instead of being confused, let’s learn from it, and take action.
Life is filled with the unexpected. Plot twists change the story of our lives, And, make us feel more connected.
Thanks for reading!
I hope this inspired you to embrace the plot twists in your life! They are forming you into a better, stronger and even smarter person. The way you react to plot twists will guide your life!
