Why are we so afraid of being nostalgic? Why do we fear change?
. . .
Although I don’t know the exact answers to those questions, I can say:
Don’t be afraid of nostalgia & change!
Yes; they can make you sad, but they can also make you happy.
. . .
Whatever triggers an old memory within you means that “that thing” was a big part of your past and you are now realizing that you’ve moved on & grown up from it.
That’s what memories are: Things we remember about the past because something in the present makes us think back to it.
If you are remembering something, it normally means that you have changed and you’re not sure how or when it happened, so your brain is remembering what life was like earlier for you to see how far you’ve come.
Don’t be afraid of nostalgia because it usually means that something in your life has changed; & change is a good thing. It means you’re learning and growing!
Oh, how I miss my time in Belize on the beach, literally doing nothing with no stress or anything…
. . .
Beach Life, in my opinion, is the best type of life out of the 3. (Beach Life VS City Life VS Country Life) Beach life encompasses all of the factors because it’s relaxing like the country, yet it’s full of people doing their own thing like the city.
. . .
I miss waking up in the morning, at anytime I wanted; If I wanted to see the sunrise, it was up to me (but now, I see it everyday on my way to work and there’s nothing magical about it anymore).
I miss eating near the ocean everyday.
I miss listening to the waves crash and the birds chirping at all hours of the day.
I miss the heat.
I miss the sun.
I miss the sand.
I miss the warm ocean water.
I miss the palm trees and the coconuts.
I miss everything about that amazing country and that beautiful island!
. . .
P.S. Here’s a picture from my time in Belize, in case you were curious…
P.P.S. In Belize, the island I’m referring to, is: ^ Glovers reef, Middle Caye. ^
It’s a BEAUTIFUL place & I highly recommend you go there one day! (You won’t regret it)
Anyways, that was my Lil’ throwback (Thursday). Thanks for reading!
