Finding Freedom by Popping Bubbles

If you don’t know where I’ve been for the past 4 months,
check out this post before reading the following story.

Running
Chasing
Catching
Finding
Discovering
Learning
Building
Working
Crying
Smiling
Laughing
Hiding
Hurting
Thinking
Talking
Processing
Praying

But, ultimately

Popping
Breaking
Destroying
Tearing
Shattering

This is my story from the past 4 months
about how I discovered my true freedom by popping bubbles:

You see, before coming to YWAM (Youth with a Mission) to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School), I used to have these bubbles. They were safe places where I could go to hide, where I could go to just feel safe, and where I could go to get away from everything. And, I was content in my own little world surrounded by these bubbles. Or, so I thought…

“Please don’t pop my bubbles!”

I felt content with my bubbles because they gave me a sense of safety. I liked looking at their beauty because they made me feel loved. I enjoyed their peacefulness because they made me feel comforable.

But, these bubbles would also really hurt me. I wouldn’t be able to let people get too close because they would pop them. Letting people get close enough to pop them seemed like a good and productive idea, but it never was because they never knew which bubbles to pop at the right time. They just wanted to pop them all right away before I was ready, which led to me being hurt often.

“Some people have no self-control with bubbles.”

So, during the past 4 months, I’ve been slowly learning that I am the one that gets to decide when I’m ready to pop a bubble. When I know I’m ready to pop a bubble, that’s when I can let others in to help and encourage me in the process.
I’ve learned that I can’t just let people get close enough and expect them to not pop any bubbles. So, I need to know when the right time for me is to let people get close enough to avoid being hurt by them choosing which bubbbles to pop in their timing.

“Stop! That’s too much, too fast; slow down please!”

So, I’ve learned that in order to let people get close enough, I need to start popping these bubbles on my own (with help & support) because it’s the only way I will feel ready to pop each bubble.
I’ve discovered that only when I’m truly ready to pop a bubble / get rid of something will I feel complete freedom from it.

“It won’t hurt if you’re ready.”

Sometimes I might think I’m not ready, but that’s when I learn how much power fear has in my decisions. Sometimes it takes others to encourage the popping of bubbles.

Freedom won’t be comfortable at first; it takes courage to allow hurt to enter our lives. But, when we start seeing the process of popping bubbles as an exciting and joyful time, we forget about the hurt because we start to see our life in a new, clear way; without the distraction of bubbles.

“Freedom is right in from of you! But, will you choose it?”

Freedom is an interesting concept because they say it’s freely given to you, and you can take it when you want. But, they fail to mention how much it hurts to actually receive it because it costs’ your total comfort. But, that’s when you have to ask yourself:

“Is freedom worth your comfort?”

Well, during the past 4 months, I’ve learned that my answer is definitely YES.
I’ve decided that I am fully willing to step out of my comfort zone to gain freedom because it’s so worth it, and at the end of the day I can’t hold onto them forever anyway.
I’ve realized that if giving-up my self-made comforts is all I need to do to receive true freedom then, I am willing to pop any bubbles that stop me from receiving this amazing freedom.

And, that’s my story from the past 4 months.

Thanks for reading!
I hope this inpsired you to think about the things in your life that could be holding you back from receiving true freedom. If I’ve learned anything during this time, it’s that:
TRUE FREEDOM IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR COMFORT!

Dirty Hands

Sometimes you gotta put in work!

It might be:

Messy

Gross

Disgusting

Tiring

Frustrating

But, it can also be:

Rewarding

Exciting

Humbling

Learning

Growing

Getting your hands dirty & putting in work might not be glamorous or easy, but it has an amazing reward. Serving others like Jesus is what we are called to do, no matter the cost. It’s what He wants from us.

Thanks for reading! I hope this encouraged you to start putting in work & serving the people around you more because the reward is far greater than the work it takes to get it.

Tearing Down Walls

I’ve built up so many walls.
It might take some time to tear them all down.
But, I’m working on it.
Slowly…

It took me my whole life to build these walls.
I’ve worked every day of my life.
I’m proud of this work I’ve done.
But, I think I’m ready to tear them down.

I’m ready to feel free.
I’m tired of hiding behind these walls.
I feel like I’m suffocating.
I need to breathe again.

These walls are not helping me.
These walls are hurting me.
These walls are depressing.

I thought I needed them.
To feel safe.
To feel secure.
To feel happy.
To feel good.

But, I think I’m wrong.
I think these walls are stopping me.
I think these walls are holding me back.
I think I need to break down these walls.

But, how?

How do I tear down my whole life?
How do I forget about it all?
How can I leave it all behind me?

I haven’t exactly found an answer to that question, but here’s a song that has helped me start to understand why these walls are hurting me.

Never Lost – Song

Thanks for reading!
I hope this post encourages you & reminds you that it’s never too late to break down the walls.

Sharing this Christmas season!

What if social status was measured by happiness, instead how much money you have in the bank?

Some people eat food they cooked from what they bought at the grocery store.
Some people can order their food, and have someone else cook it.
Some people really have to work to feed themselves for just one meal.
Some people can work for an entire month, and barely make enough for an apple.

But, who is truly the happiest in those scenarios?

Sure, having food in your stomach everyday feels great. But, after a while you start taking it for granted, and looking for other things to fill the void.
But, people that work for their food, appreciate their meal because it came from their own hard work, and that makes them feel accomplished.
But, the people that go weeks without eating, truly appreciate their meal because they know what it feels like to be empty, and still need to work hard. This food fills their body and soul, which gives them energy to work even harder for more food, and it makes them truly happy and successful.

*Think of an apple.*

A simple fruit that for some, doesn’t seem expensive at all. And, for others, it’s the easiest fruit to buy. But, for those that go weeks without eating, it can literally be their ticket back to life.

The average price of a pound of apples is $1.18.
And, there are approximately 4-5 apples in a pound.
Which means that one apple costs around $0.30.
So, it literally costs $0.30 to save someone’s life.
Or, even just $2 to give someone true happiness for a full week.

Just let that sink in for a moment!

This post was inspired when I discovered an amazing organisation that is doing great things.
They are a non-profit where people can donate $0.50 / day to feed a child in a developing country for an entire day.
This organisation is called: Share The Meal
I recommend checking it out, especially during this season because this is a time of giving (isn’t it).
If you want to give back this Christmas, & give joy & hope to people that truly need it, check it out!

Living in a National Park! (video)

The peace, the mountains, the small town vibe, the locals, the tourists, the cafes, the hiking trails, the lakes, etc…

From every little thing; living in a small national park town is: “interesting”.
I can say from experience that it’s not for everyone, but everyone should definitely try to experience it at least once.
You can really learn a lot!
I’ve lived in a small national park town for a year now (6 months at a time), and I can truly say that each time, I’ve learned something new.
The first time, I didn’t like it so much, and I kept saying: “too small, not for me.”.
But, the second time, I was better prepared. I was mentally ready to enjoy the peace, hiking, cafes, tourists, locals, and everything that you get to experience when living in a small national park town.
And, so, I decided to make a video showing what it’s like to live, & work in a small national park town.

So, here’s my video experience from my time living and working in Jasper, Alberta, Canada: https://youtu.be/bVHs7lSZfsI

I’m Back!

So, I’m back from taking a break from blogging.
I’ve had an amazing, and refreshing summer, with a lot of fun, and silly moments, and a lot of reflection moments. It was a well balanced summer (with work and beach days and hikes to the top of mountains). I feel refreshed, and ready to start blogging again!

I also have an amazing announcement to tell you!!!
I am planning a trip back to….

(you’ll have to wait, and see what country in my next post…)
I’m SOOOO EXCITED to go back to one of my favorite countries!!!
And, I’m excited to blog about my travels, and share my adventures with you! I’m counting down the days until I get to return to my favorite country, but until then, I can’t wait to share the Pre-Departure process with you.

That’s all the updates I have for now. Thanks for reading!
I hope you’ll follow me on my upcoming trip back to… one of my favorite countries!

200

Wow! I can’t believe I’ve reached 200 posts! That’s crazy! I can’t believe I wrote all that! I used to hate writing! But, clearly I don’t anymore! I actually enjoy it! And, I look forward to writing a new post! I can’t believe how much has happened in my life through the past 200 posts! This blog has been a crazy journey! And, I can’t wait for the next hundreds of posts!

. . .

The day I hit 200 posts:
I’m currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’m sitting on a couch in the common area in my hostel, where I’ve been volunteering and living for the past 3 months.
It’s a cooler day outside (fall is in the air). The city is busy, as usual. Kids are getting ready to start school. People are coming/going to work!
I’m getting ready to head to Chile (to visit my friends/family from last year). I’m listening to music while booking my bus to Chile!
And, then I decided to look at my wordpress stats, and I noticed that I was 1 post away from 200, so I decided to take the time to write my 200th post.

. . .

I also want to take this time to thank you!
If you’ve been reading since I started blogging, or if you just started following my journey;
Thank you for reading my random blog filled with random thoughts and adventures!
I’m looking forward to writing more random content for you to read!

Adulting / Living Abroad

There’s a lot to learn how to do all over again.

. . .

It doesn’t matter if you were a pro at all those things in your home country because everything will be different in a foreign country.

Yes, there will be similarities, and you will learn the differences quickly. But, you will still need to learn the best place to grocery shop, the best method of transportation to get around (bus, subway, taxi), and the currency (so you know when something is overpriced).

And, on top of discovering all those things, you will need to learn a foreign language.

AND, while you are learning ALL that, you also need to deal with homesickness and culture shock (at least for the first few months).

Now, I’m not saying all this to scare you. I personally have been loving my experience living abroad. I’m telling you all this so you know what’s coming: A LOT OF WORK AND DEDICATION! But, it’s 100% worth it.

Yes, there will be ups and downs. There will be days where you won’t want to speak the language (you’ll get tired of needing to train your brain in a foreign language everyday). There will be days where you’ll just want to do nothing. But, those days are the best because they will teach you the most.
If you power through those days, you will realize how worth it, it is, to learn to adult/live in a foreign country.
It will make it that much easier for your return to your home country. Adulting/living in a foreign country is an amazing, life-changing experience.

It really is LIFE-CHANGING because after you live in a foreign country for more than 2 or 3 months, your view of everything changes. But, the only way to understand this life-changing experience is to live it yourself!
So, step out of your comfort zone & live this amazing experience!

Thanks for reading!

I hope this inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and change your perspective!

Trust the process

You don’t know,
What will happen tomorrow.

You don’t know,
Where life will take you.

You don’t know,
How you will feel.

You don’t know,
Why things happen.

You just,
Don’t know.

You can’t plan,
Your whole life.

It will just happen,
The way it’s supposed to.

And nothing you do,
Can ultimately change that.

Those decisions,
Shouldn’t stress you.

They won’t end your life.
So, don’t worry too much about them.

You can try your absolute best,
To create an amazing life for yourself.

But, in the end,
Life will just happen.

There’s nothing you can do,
You can’t change it.

But, you can,
Make it even better.

Just work towards your dreams.
And, be happy and thankful everyday.

Weekend coffee share…

So, it’s been a week since I’ve posted anything. And, I know 1 week isn’t very long, but to me it feels like it’s been long enough. (I’ve been trying to post twice a week, but clearly that didn’t happen!)

And, I guess I’m mostly just disapointed in myself because I really don’t have a valid reason for not posting this past week, until I was inspired to write the following:

Excuses

What are they for?

Why do we make excuses?

We tell ourselves, and others, that we messed up, and we’re sorry.

But, we don’t do anything to change it?

We just excuse ourselves, and “promise” that it won’t happen again.

And, then, guess what?

It happens again!

And again!

How do we stop this bad habit?

I wish excuses were actually a way of being certain that people would stick to their word and keep their promises. But, that’s not how it works.

People will make as many excuses as it takes, until they learn the lesson(s) from it.

And, even though this post is my way of pardoning my lack of posts lately, it’s helped me realize exactly why I haven’t posted in a while.

I could say that it’s because of work, or that I had a busy week, or I was just enjoying the summer, etc. There are so many excuses I could invent to “explain” my lack of posts. But, I’m not gonna pretend that they’re all the full reason because that would be a lie.

Altough some of those excuses are still valid, the main reason I haven’t posted is because I haven’t been super inspired to write lately.

…You see, I started this blog with the goal to inspire people to travel, but I haven’t been doing much traveling myself lately (because of, well, you know; Work).

But, that’s all gonna change very soon! 😉

And, that’s all I’m gonna say in this post. But, just know that I am working on my next awesome post (a post of an adventure of my trip to Chile from a few months ago).

Thanks for reading!

I hope this post inspired you to do something instead of making more excuses!

How was your week? (comment below; I’d love to hear read about it)

A “Poem” for haters & bullies…

I don’t care anymore!
Your comments won’t affect me!
I’m not going to listen!
You can’t mess me up!
It won’t work; I’m over you!
You’ve taught me enough!

…Just so you know…

All your comments and “friendly” convos,
Are no longer consuming my thoughts!
You used to ruin my days,
With all the negative words,
But, now…
I don’t care!

…Just so you know…

Even though I’m done with you,
I still want to thank you,
Because without you,
I wouldn’t be where I am today.
So, although your comments hurt –
A whole lot!
They also helped me succeed –
Big time!

So thank you –
Very much!

…Just so you know…

And, now…
We say goodbye!
You’ve taught me enough.
I don’t need you anymore!
It’s time I moved on with these lessons.
It’s time I start to use what you’ve taught me.

And, go out & find new haters –
To teach me new lessons,
So I can continue to grow and succeed!
So, I wish you all the best in your future!
Thanks for helping me shape mine!
Goodbye –
& Good Luck!

Life is all about the hustle!

We all want to leave some sort of legacy behind for people to remember us by.
We work so hard to make sure people remember us for something big.
We spend most of our lives trying to impress the “big boss” to get that big promotion, so we can start making a difference.

. . .

And, all that is great and all; we should have dreams and goals. Hustling for what you want is great. But, what if, after all that hard work you never get that promotion? Then, what?

…If it were me, I’d probably be a little sad and depressed, and I wouldn’t have any energy left to create another legacy.

So, instead of waiting for that perfect moment, why not just start creating your legacy today?

. . .

Legacies don’t need to be spectacular shows, like those of history (like Martin Luther king Jr and other historical figures).

You can start making a difference right now, just by being YOU!
That’s the best legacy you can ever create!

I mean, think about it. That’s the one thing that all those people have in common; they are all remembered because they believed in something, and made it change. And, they didn’t stop until people believed in what they were doing and joined in.

They believed in themselves until others started to as well!

That’s the best way to create a legacy; believe in yourself so much that others have no choice but to start believing in you too.
If you do that, you will be remembered for being you and encouraging others to be themselves.

. . .

Don’t just work your whole life away for that one promotion to start your life legacy; start creating it now!

The definition of legacy says: “A gift of some sort, handed down from one generation to the next.”.

So, what gift do you want to leave for the world? (Not just your family, but the entire world?!?)

Remember, it doesn’t have to be a tangible thing; it can be love, happiness, inclusion, peace, etc.
But, whatever it is, you need to live by it everyday! And, people will eventually start to catch on!

That’s all you need to do to create a legacy, perseverance and self-confidence!

Thanks for reading!
Now, go create your legacy!

Weekend coffee share…

So, first of all, if we were having coffee right now, it would be 6 am because that’s the only time we could meet, as I work all weekend until the end of the day.

. . .

So, it’s 6 am.

It’s so early that the sun has barely risen. But, at least it is sunny. Spring is finally catching up (hopefully it continues).

. . .

If we were having coffee right now, I would be asking you about your week and plans for the weekend (and i’d probably be a little jealous). I’d ask you how school or work is going. I’d ask you how your week went…

I’d honestly probably just ask you questions, until you asked me something (I’m not one to just talk about myself voluntarily).

But, for the sake of this post, let’s pretend you’ve already asked me questions.

. . .

Then, I would tell you how tired I am this morning. I would tell you how much I just want to be sleeping in today, instead of working.

I would tell you how much I miss living in Chile, where I didn’t have wake up so early or wait for the sun to come out everyday.

I would show you some picture from my trip and tell you that you have to visit the country one day.

I would tell you that I’m so tired that this coffee isn’t even waking me up.

I would tell you that I just want to be sitting on a plane right now, instead of waiting for my bus to work.

I would tell you how much it means to me that you woke up at 6 am on your day off just to talk, small talk, for a few minutes.

I would tell you that I should get to work, but I am really thankful for the short time you took to talk, this early on a Sunday morning.

Then, we would probably hug.

I’d say: “have a good day off” and you’d say: “you too”.

And, then, we’d laugh and you’d correct yourself and say: “…good day, at work, I mean. See you next time!”

I’d smile, and say: “ya, next time…Maybe not so early, with more time to just sit.”.

And, finally, we’d wave goodbye!

That’s what it would probably be like, if we met this morning for a cup of coffee.

Thanks for reading this post!

P.S. I actually did write this post on the bus at 7 am. And, I’m thinking about maybe doing one every weekend as something new to try on this blog, so please let me know what you think in the comments.

Hello Fall?…

IMG_20180104_103705_486
Yes, this is what Fall looks like in Quillota, Chile!

…So…when I normally think about Fall, I think about:
Leaves falling
-Sweater weather
-Time to get ready for snow…and Christmas…

Well, that’s not the case for me this Fall because it’s Fall right now in Chile, and I can’t think about any of those things. Instead, I’m thinking about: going swimming, maybe getting ice cream, just staring at the sun and being in awe (and confused) about this weather...

. . .

Yup, that’s right. It’s fall here in Chile and the lowest temperature is 10°C (in the middle of the night). During the day, it can still reach at least 25°C and drop to 15°C.

. . .

But, temperatures aside. The other reason I’m writing this post is because it’s the end of March and stores are having sales on summer clothes, people are actually starting to wear jackets, kids are just starting school, the weather is dropping (compared to last month).
In my mind, everything that normally happens in September is happening now, in march. And, in a way, it seems normal because I’ve been here all summer anyway, so I can adapt to it easily. It took me all summer to adapt to the weather in January that now it kinda just seems normal. But, when I think about the date, it seems so weird because my mind is not used to saying: “happy first day of fall” at the end of March. But, on the plus side, I can buy summer clothes here on sale for summer when I get back home.

Anyways, after living here during New Year’s and the first day of Fall, my perspective changed because the seasons being flipped made me start thinking:
For one, I find it so fascinating that some people say it’s a small world out there because literally a 10 hour plane ride (that’s a pretty long plane ride) from you (below the equator) there are people starting school or work, when you are getting ready to go on vacation. That’s evidence that it’s really not such a small world after all. We all live on the same planet, but it’s a pretty big planet with different countries and cultures.

Seriously though, we all live in different places on this planet, and we all adapt to different lifestyles based on the seasons of our country during a time in the year.
The people in the world aren’t so different (we are still all human), but the world is so big and different, which gives us something interesting to learn about when we travel.
Some people are shoveling snow while others are turning on all their fans.
Some people are coming home from vacation while others are packing for vacation.
Some people are preparing for Spring while others are raking leaves.

This is one of the main reasons why I love traveling so much;
To get a different perspective on things in life because sometimes when you look at something familiar in a different place, you can see the importance and impact it can actually have, which will changed your perspective about that things.

Stranger danger!

So, “stranger danger” can’t really be in my vocabulary anymore.

. . .

Remember when you were young, and your parents told you not to talk to strangers?
Well, that comes with a lot of terms and conditions, the biggest one being: Traveling.
P.S. I’m not talking about those creepy strangers in white vans (you should definitely fear them), I mean those people that you act shy around because you don’t really know them.

. . .

I mean, seriously, though, it’s crazy how many strangers I’ve spoken to while living here in Chile.
And, for me, even just talking to people I know is sometimes difficult, but living here for 3 months has taught me that I don’t have to be so scared because people are just people and they’re not all scary.
I’ve realized that the fear I had about talking to people was stupid; I learned to just talk to people without being scared or fear of being judged.

. . .

When I first got here, I was so nervous to meet my host-family (I thought they would hate me) and I was not at all confident in my Spanish (this didn’t help my nervousness).
But, after living here for 3 months, I’ve started to really get to know my host-family (they’re actually really nice) and I started to let the nerves go and start speaking to them and strangers in Spanish.
And, in doing those things, I’ve started to feel so much more confident when speaking to stranger and I’ve learned so much more Spanish.

At first, I was so scared of being judged for my accent in Spanish that I would barely even speak in a day. But, after a while, I started saying small sentences each day and eventually worked up the courage to start having conversations in Spanish. And, now I can actually say that I can “fluently” speak Spanish (I use fluently loosely because I still stumble with certain words, but for the most part, I can hold a successful conversation).

After getting over my fear of speaking to strangers, I had to get over my fear of being judged for my accent.
And, it hasn’t been easy, but definitely worth it because now, I can say that:
-I am no longer afraid to speak to strangers.
AND
-I can officially speak 3 languages (some much better than others, but I can still understand and be understood in all 3).

. . .

So, all this to say that, if you ever fear public speaking (or just speaking to strangers), just remember the cliche sentence:

Nothing good ever comes from your comfort zone,
stepping out is the best decision you will ever make!

And, if you too are trying to learn a new language, here’s my best tip for you:

Learning a completely new language isn’t possible overnight,
it takes a lot of humiliation, work, perseverance and courage.

Those two things might be very difficult and seemingly impossible tasks, but, they are always worth working toward because they could change your life in so many ways.

So, next time you are faced with one of these situations, remember:

images
Work towards your dreams everyday!

images2
You don’t always have to be brave; just persevere through the tough obstacles you will face on your journey to the top!

index
You have to work towards your dreams everyday, no matter what!

After it all, you will be so thankful for everything you’ve accomplished!

I hope this post inspired you to go conquer your dreams!

It all makes sense…

I finally understand everything that happened before this trip.

. . .

So, here I am. I made it to Chile! I am living in this beautiful country, teaching English and learning Spanish with my host family. The process to get here was long, but definitely worth it! But, there are still days that feel pretty long because Chileans do things a little differently. They’re much more relaxed and never rush to do anything (And, I mean ANYTHING).
So, it took me a while to adapt to their lifestyle.
And, when I first got here I was pretty frustrated because I thought I wasn’t using my time here wisely (I was always waiting for a store to open or for the community pool to open).
I felt like my days were being wasted, and I wasn’t seeing as much as possible. And, on top of that, I never knew when my host family wanted to learn English because they never told me when was the best time (I asked them countless times this question and I tried starting lessons at different times in the day, but nothing seemed to work).
But, then I thought about it, and realized that the faster I could adapt to their lifestyle, the more I would enjoy my time here, and the more English I would be able to teach them.
And, since that realization, that’s what I’ve been trying to do, but it’s proven to be very difficult because I need to rewire the parts of my brain that tell me that 6pm is a little late to drive to the next town to do something, and instead say 6pm is actually (apparently) early. Or, that 10 pm is late for an English lesson, when it’s actually proven to be the best time.

Adapting to a new culture is more difficult than it seems, and it takes a lot of work and patience,
but it’s definitely worth it!

. . .

Starting over in a new country has proven to be more difficult
than I originally thought.

But, it’s a very interesting & exciting new experience.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. If you ever move to another country or simply just visit for a time, I recommend adapting to the time difference and the lifestyle as quickly as possible, in order to make the most of your time/trip.
And, if you ever feel frustrated with something in a new country, just have patience because in the end you are in their country and they are just living their normal everyday life!

Patience and Perseverance are the best ways to adapt to a new culture!

Put in the work!

d433fef056372e0edadafaf4af5626e1--fitnessmotivation-so-true

You can’t just put in work when you feel like it.
Success won’t come overnight.
Your dreams won’t accomplish themselves.

Whatever it is that you want to accomplish; YOU have to put in the work EVERYDAY!
Results come with consistency and patience!

. . .

I’ve been living in Chile for 2 months and I can truly say that putting in the work is 100% worth it.
There are days (especially during my first month of living here) when I don’t feel like trying to speak Spanish, and as a result, during the day I feel lost and alone. I’m not trying to understand what people are saying and I don’t feel like trying to speak (my broken) Spanish, and as a result, I isolate myself.
But, during the days when I put in the work to listen and speak Spanish, I start to feel like I actually kind of fit in because I’m consciously listening and understanding to what people are saying and I actively try to speak Spanish the best I can and I start to feel understood and less alone.

. . .

Anyways, this post is just your Sunday reminder that whatever you want to accomplish this week, you can’t just sit there and say: “I’ll get there 1 day, I have all week anyways.”.
You have to get up now and actively work for what you want!

Putting in the work will always lead to great things!

Learning…

day7-tweet5

For the record: I don’t know the person that posted the previous tweet, but I very much agree with it.
Here’s why:

. . .

As a high school and college graduate, I do think education is important to start your life by learning the basics.
But, as a traveler, I know that I still have a lot to learn. And, the more I travel, the more this reveals itself to me more and more every day.

You see, I’ve realized that once you start to travel to different countries in the world, you will truly realize that all those things you learned in school were average knowledge to get you started with your life.

. . .

This is why I started to travel and write in this blog; because I wanted to encourage people to travel and always keep exploring and learning, no matter how smart they think they are. There’s always something out there in the world that you can learn (it’s big enough, you’ll find something).

. . .

Now, I’m not saying that you should quit school and just travel (don’t do that).
What I’m saying is: Don’t think that just because you have the best diploma out there means you know everything.
Think about it this way: “If you can’t speak every language in the world, you still have a lot to learn.” (that’s a little exaggerated, but you get the point).

Dear younger me,

Hey you! I know you think that your life’s not going super great right now, and I wish I could tell you all the mistakes I’ve made, all the mistakes you will make, all the pain you will feel and just everything to help you have a perfect life & be one step ahead.
I would tell you how everything’s going to turn out. I would tell you exactly what to do. I would tell you that your life is never going to be perfect. I would tell you that you are always going to be different. I would tell you how to live your perfect and best life.

I would give you all the answers you want to hear!

But, to be honest, I still don’t have all the answers.
Instead, I’m just going to tell you to never be afraid; just be you and make your life decisions to the best of your abilities and knowledge because that will make you happy and it will create a life you will be proud of. If you make your own decisions, you will create your life and no one else’s and that will make you proud and happy.

There’s nothing I could tell you that will change your life because the decisions you make today will make the future you, YOU.
Life is a series of decisions we make and those decisions impact who we become; decisions are an important part of our life journey. Stop trying to create the perfect life for yourself, just start winging it and making the decisions you think are best for you in this moment.

~Don’t be afraid to make choices because they are what make you unique and create an amazing life for yourself.~

I know that right now, you might think that you need all the answers so you don’t mess up, but let me tell you that whatever happens is not your fault.
Ya, sure it was your decision that led you here, but that doesn’t mean you made a mistake. Every decision you make will help you learn and make you better, which will help you make even better decisions in the future. Don’t let your past mistakes scare you from making great future decisions; you are making the decisions that you believe are right and those decisions will give you the life you deserve and have created for yourself. Don’t let life scare you, just keep living it one day at a time; and I promise, one day you’ll look back and wonder how you got here.
Every decision you make is leading you to a different situation that you don’t know anything about, so you can’t possibly know what to do, but don’t be scared. The unknown future doesn’t have to be scary, it can actually be quite exciting, just don’t stress!

~Your life is not a mistake.~
~The decisions you made to get here were not mistakes!~
~Every decision you make is a step forward, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment!~

I know, it might seem scary to have so much control over your life, but if you’re ever in a funk about making decisions, just remember to think about the life you want and deserve, and make your decisions based on that, because you know deep down what you really deserve and what you really want.

REMEMBER:
You got this!
You can do it!
You are amazing!
Just look how far you’ve come; You’re doing great!

Okay, now that you know you’re doing great, stop looking back at how far you’ve come, it’s good encouragement but, you need to start looking at all the amazing things you have left to accomplish! Start making those amazing decisions!

Sincerely,

Future you, that realizes that her life turned out pretty GREAT!
Thank You for all your hard work and for never giving up! 🙂

Inner child…

~Sometimes it’s where your best ideas come from.~

. . .

Always keep your childlike innocence and curiosity about the world. It just might save your life.

Sometimes, we all take life too seriously. We need to remember that we don’t always need to know everything. We don’t always need to be the best in the room; we just need to be the best version of ourselves. We don’t need to stop having fun once we reach a certain age; there will always be an inner child living inside of us.

I think too often we forget that we are all just trying to figure out this thing called life. We should stop being so hard on ourselves and others.

~Never loose your inner child because without it you wouldn’t enjoy life anymore!~
~Your inner child is what keeps you curious and laughing about life!~

. . .

Sometimes (on my commutes to work), I look around and notice everyone in the bus is either on their phones or laptops, and I think to myself: “People need to take a break from work because it will eventually make them completely loose their inner child.”.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, working hard is good, having a good work ethic, and making a successful life for yourself are all very good things to strive for in life. And, they all help you grow in life; and growth is important to feel accomplished and be happy.
But, if work starts taking over your life and starts taking away your happiness and you don’t know how to let your inner child-like spirit out anymore, maybe you should consider taking a break from work to let your inner child free.
Find something that you love to do, that will make you happy and excited; that will let your inner child strive for that moment. So, when you get back to work, you feel rejuvenated and ready to conquer life again.

You can’t keep it locked up forever or else it will eventually start to fade away!
Your inner child is where your true happiness comes from!
Let it out once in a while, and find the balance between work and ‘real’ play!

And, who knows maybe that one time that you let your inner child out, you might think of an amazing idea for that business meeting you’ve been dreading for a while.

~Your inner child could save your life, your happiness and your success!~

If you don’t know how to let your inner child free; I recommend traveling to someplace you know nothing about, so you can get lost like a child and be curious about the things around you!

Where’s the love?

You know, I think everyone in the world should listen to that song…
It speaks the truth, and it’s so relevant for the current state of the world right now.

. . .

There’s so much terrible things happening in the world right now; we all just need to look past it and start to love each other! Because…

Love is the only thing that will prevail ’til the end!

Love always wins!

Why is it so hard for us to just love our neighbours? Why do we always have to be at war with each other? Why do we seek to make enemies with other people?

We are all just human beings anyways, why do we treat one another SO differently?

Seriously though, we might be different but we are still all human beings, and we should start treating each other like we want to be treated.
The world would become such a better place if we all treated each other with love & respect!

Think about this:

People are drowning in the water that you drink everyday or People in another country are paying for you to go to school for free!

What if, instead of going to school, YOU spent all your days working/slaving just so someone on the other side of the world could go to school for free to get a much better job/income than you?

How would you feel if that was your life?
In other words: How would you feel if you were looked down on because of where you live in the world?

We need to stop discriminating between race and cultures because we are all human beings here on earth to live our own lives.

Yes, it’s true that life looks different in each country, but that doesn’t mean WE (humans) are that different! We’re actually quite similar, we just have different views of the world from our own perspective, and we have different ways of seeing/doing everyday tasks.

So, next time you take a trip abroad, take a look at the people around you (locals) and what they are doing. It’s probably something similar to what you would do back home; It only looks different because they do it a little bit differently than you!

Love is the key!
Love is the answer!
Love is the solution!

-Verse taken from this song: Where’s The Love?

They (the media/society) don’t want us to love because if we all loved each other, they wouldn’t have anything to talk about anymore!

Do we really want to let them win or Do we want to live in a safe and happy world?

It’s OUR choice! We decide what type of world we create and want to live in! Let’s make it one that we’re proud of; that future generations will thank us for!

. . .

The world is broken, and the only way to fix something that’s broken is with glue!

Love is like glue for the world! Once we start loving one another, we will be glued together by love & understanding for one another! Love (glue) will bring us closer!

And, if you don’t understand how you could possibly love someone on the other side of the world; I suggest you take a trip abroad because it will really open your eyes; because

That’s what the world needs right now: OPEN EYES & HEARTS!

&

                  MORE ACCEPTANCE & LOVE!

Thanks for reading! Remember to always choose love and positivity! They are truly the secrets to life! Let’s remove hate from the world and turn this world upside down!

Share this post (or the song) with someone you care about.
Let’s start spreading love now!

Also… if you read this post ’til the end, I (sincerely) thank you, it means a lot!
