Find a mirror Take a selfie Look At your reflection My perfect child My beautiful creation Can’t you see The beauty within
In your eyes It’s so evident Look At your worth Use my eyes Look At your imperfections Through my eyes Look At the beauty That I see
Do you see it Can you see What I see Look I am perfect In your eyes But you still Can’t see it Look At my spirit Thriving within you I’ve made you So beautifully perfect As I wanted
When I Look At you I see Only beauty Immense perfection Total worth And I remember How much I love you
My love For you Comes with No strings attached It will Always remain Even when You don’t see it I will Look At you And See you My beautiful Perfect creation My love For you Comes with No strings attached
Now take a moment Look Find that mirror again Take a different selfie Look At your perfect reflection Through your creators’ eyes Now Do you see it
All your purpose Your endless worth The overwhelming love I give you Look All those things I’ve called you To great things
Do you see it yet? Look When you can’t love yourself I want to show you My amazing love for you For you to start and Look
At your self Through my eyes You will see Just how Worthy Perfect And Beautiful You truly are Look At what I created To do such great things Look At me At others And most importantly Look At yourself Through my eyes
Thanks for reading! I hope this poem inspired you to start looking at yourself & the world around you with the eyes of the creator of the universe!
P.S. The picture above has a pretty deep story behind it that I was going to share in this post, but then I decided to leave this poem as it is, and make another post about the story behind that picture (this is just a sneak peak into that story). Check back next week for the full story behind that picture!
I am sculpting strengthening growing your lungs making them perfect strong and bigger than ever because I need you to tell the world about me through your story
I am changing re-molding re-shaping your heart making it heavy and giving it the desires of my heart because I want you to follow my plan for you and love others as I love you
Thanks for reading! I hope this reminded you that change is necessary for growth; but you can’t grow if you don’t embrace it! When you embrace change, that’s when amazing things start to happen in your life!
So, I’ve recently gone through a pretty testing season of life. And, I’ve learned that the only way to win battles is to fight them the right way.
But, before I go into the details, here’s a poem I wrote during this past season:
Dear God, I’m done I’m giving up I can’t carry this anymore I have nothing left The world couldn’t fill What I’m searching for But I still can’t Seem to find it Dear God, Help me Fight this battle Take this weight From my shoulders It’s killing me I’m done with the world I’m done searching Show me your truth Reveal your glory to me Dear God, Please Don’t make me wait Forgive me Restore me in your love Fill me with peace Show me your grace Help me see you Be my answer Dear God, I’m done searching For temporary answers In the world Because You are the answer I’ve been looking for This whole time You were there Waiting for me To find you Dear God, Thank you For waiting For me To come And find you In the midst Of the chaos You are And will always Be near
You see, I used to get really anxious in uncomfortable situations. And, I mean, REALLY anxious; I would bite my nails A LOT, and start to shut down to the people around me. I still currently have no nails while typing this, but they’re growing back, slowly (just like my relationships with some people)… Anyways, this past season or my life (the past 6 months) have been teaching me a lot about how to fight my battles in a positive, and productive way.
I’ve learned that fighting my battles is impossible alone; my own strength is not enough (that causes me to bite my nails a lot), and even when people help me, they can’t fully win the battle (especially spiritual battles). The only way I can truly win all my battles is by fighting them with God. He is the ultimate protector in my battles, and He gives me everything I need to win all my battles. And,this song has been an amazing reminder, and encourager for me, so I hope it inspires you as well.
Thanks for reading! I hope this post was insightful and encouraging to your soul; and that it filled your spirit with a new sense of hope for your battles.
If you don’t know where I’ve been for the past 4 months, check out this post before reading the following story.
Running Chasing Catching Finding Discovering Learning Building Working Crying Smiling Laughing Hiding Hurting Thinking Talking Processing Praying
Popping Breaking Destroying Tearing Shattering
This is my story from the past 4 months about how I discovered my true freedom by popping bubbles:
You see, before coming to YWAM (Youth with a Mission) to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School), I used to have these bubbles. They were safe places where I could go to hide, where I could go to just feel safe, and where I could go to get away from everything. And, I was content in my own little world surrounded by these bubbles. Or, so I thought…
“Please don’t pop my bubbles!”
I felt content with my bubbles because they gave me a sense of safety. I liked looking at their beauty because they made me feel loved. I enjoyed their peacefulness because they made me feel comforable.
But, these bubbles would also really hurt me. I wouldn’t be able to let people get too close because they would pop them. Letting people get close enough to pop them seemed like a good and productive idea, but it never was because they never knew which bubbles to pop at the right time. They just wanted to pop them all right away before I was ready, which led to me being hurt often.
“Some people have no self-control with bubbles.”
So, during the past 4 months, I’ve been slowly learning that I am the one that gets to decide when I’m ready to pop a bubble. When I know I’m ready to pop a bubble, that’s when I can let others in to help and encourage me in the process. I’ve learned that I can’t just let people get close enough and expect them to not pop any bubbles. So, I need to know when the right time for me is to let people get close enough to avoid being hurt by them choosing which bubbbles to pop in their timing.
“Stop! That’s too much, too fast; slow down please!”
So, I’ve learned that in order to let people get close enough, I need to start popping these bubbles on my own (with help & support) because it’s the only way I will feel ready to pop each bubble. I’ve discovered that only when I’m truly ready to pop a bubble / get rid of something will I feel complete freedom from it.
“It won’t hurt if you’re ready.”
Sometimes I might think I’m not ready, but that’s when I learn how much power fear has in my decisions. Sometimes it takes others to encourage the popping of bubbles.
Freedom won’t be comfortable at first; it takes courage to allow hurt to enter our lives. But, when we start seeing the process of popping bubbles as an exciting and joyful time, we forget about the hurt because we start to see our life in a new, clear way; without the distraction of bubbles.
“Freedom is right in from of you! But, will you choose it?”
Freedom is an interesting concept because they say it’s freely given to you, and you can take it when you want. But, they fail to mention how much it hurts to actually receive it because it costs’ your total comfort. But, that’s when you have to ask yourself:
“Is freedom worth your comfort?”
Well, during the past 4 months, I’ve learned that my answer is definitely YES. I’ve decided that I am fully willing to step out of my comfort zone to gain freedom because it’s so worth it, and at the end of the day I can’t hold onto them forever anyway. I’ve realized that if giving-up my self-made comforts is all I need to do to receive true freedom then, I am willing to pop any bubbles that stop me from receiving this amazing freedom.
And, that’s my story from the past 4 months.
Thanks for reading! I hope this inpsired you to think about the things in your life that could be holding you back from receiving true freedom. If I’ve learned anything during this time, it’s that: TRUE FREEDOM IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR COMFORT!

That girl in the picture Standing there Smilling through the pain Just living life
That girl in the picture She never could’ve Known or imagined What was coming
That girl in the picure Looking at the world Blind to the future She had no idea
That girl in the picture She couldn’t even Begin to prepare For this!
How could she know? How could she prepare? How could she see?
She didn’t have a map – Or a to-do list. She just needed time.
Time is the key Everything unfolds so quickly
Time to remember & forget And, process it all
That girl in the picture Wasn’t ready for this
So, give her time!
Thanks for reading! I hope this poem inspired you to slow down & give yourself time to take a moment to enjoy life!
For the original picture: CLICK HERE! P.S. The featured picture on this post was the inspiration for this poem because when looking at it, I was reminded of who I was in that moment, & I realized how different I used to be. It reminded me to be kind to myself because we all need time to process through life.
Here I am! Ready for this new experience! Open to new challenges! I have made room for new lessons! I am here! And, I am ready (bring on 2020)!
I am currently in the process of going to study abroad in Australia. By “in the process” I mean; I’ve already spoken to the school, and sent my tuition deposit. And, I have been approved for a 10 months student visa (2020 in Australia, here I come). So, the only paperwork I have left is to purchase my flight ticket!!!
And, although I’ve already travelled to many foreign countries on my own, something about this process feels different somehow… …I feel like this experience is gonna change a lot more than just my perspective on a new culture. I feel like this experience is gonna change me, and my whole perspective on LIFE! And, for some reason, that makes me kinda nervous. Traveling abroad for leisure on my own to see a new country, and culture has a different feeling than going to study and live in another country. But, I am still very grateful that I’ve already solo traveled abroad because it lowers some of the nerves.
And, although, I’m going to be leaving in about 6 weeks from now, I’m not fully ready to share exactly what I’ll be doing yet.
All I can say is that, it’s gonna be an amazing, life changing experience, and I can’t wait to share all about it!!!
Thanks for reading! I hope you’ll follow along with me on this new, life-changing journey!
Hi! I guess if you read this far; I can give you a hint as to what I’ll be doing: Promo Video
You try & try, over & over again, to fit in with the world. You think you’ll be happy when everyone likes you. You just want to feel part of something! All you want is to feel wanted. You want to feel happy & loved.
So, you try & try, over & over again to fit in. You try everything they like. You do what they do. You fall into sin & you act like them. But what happens is not what you hoped for! All your trying to fit in has actually made you feel unworthy of His love. You’ve sinned so much that now you feel too disconnected from Him. And, all of it wasn’t even worth it because you still don’t fit in.
You tried & tried, over & over again, & nothing changed. Things actually got worse. You still don’t fit in, & you slid further away from your goal. All you want now is to erase the past & start fresh. You realize as long as you fear Him, you’ll never fit in. You will always feel guilty, & people will feel awkward around you. You’ll never truly be one of them because you have Him on your side. And, He is always looking after you.
Stop trying & trying, over & over again to fit in. Trust Him, & experience His love & forgiveness. That’s when you will feel true joy. A joy that the world could never offer. He chose you, & He will never give up on you. You are, & you will forever be, His child.
If the world is not where you fit in, just remember that you are part of a greater & better family. So, stop trying to fit in with the world, they have literally nothing to offer. He can offer you so much more than the world ever could!
At first you just shake it You feel it for a moment And, then, you forget it
You start living in the moment With all the excitement Of this new experience
But, soon you get tired And, it catches up to you You can’t shake it this time
You’ve learned, explored, experienced Now, your brain is tired ready To go home
This new perspective These new lessons This new excitement
Ready to go home And, see the world Through your new view
Thanks for reading! I hope this reminded you that if you ever feel homesick; remember that everything you are learning and experiencing will completely change your perspective. So, enjoy your new experience and learn as much as you can because that’s what makes going home after a trip so exciting; you get to experience your home with a new perspective, in a completely different way!
P.S. I’m going home in 2 weeks from my 4 months trip in South America, so if you want to receive a postcard from my adventures, click this link!
So, I’m leaving Argentina in a few hours, and I don’t know how to feel. It’s a bittersweet feeling because I’ve lived here for 3 months and I’ve met so many amazing people. I’m really going to miss this country, but I’m also ready to leave with my new found confidence in myself and perspective of the world. So, in my bittersweet moment, I decided to write the following:
I welcome you with open arms. I’m so excited for what you have in store for me this year. I hope it’s as good (or even better) than 2018. I just thought I should warn you that you have a lot to compete against. The bar is raised (as they say).
I learned a lot in 2018, so I’m ready for more new lessons in 2019. I also traveled quite a bit in 2018, so I’m ready for more adventures to see even more of the world in 2019.
I’m ready for everything you have in store for me this year, and I’m so ready to step out of my comfort zone. It took me a while, but 2018 was finally the year I gained full confidence in myself (from teaching English in a foreign country, to solo traveling abroad). I’m ready to use my new found confidence! So, I hope you’re ready for me because here I come, with confidence, eagerness, and excitement for the next 365 days! Let’s do this, and make this the best year yet!
READY! SET! GO!
Sincerely, A girl ready to conquer this year!
. . .
Thanks for reading! If you’re ready to conquer 2019 as well, comment below with one of your biggest goals that you really want to accomplish this year. Also, if you want new year resolution ideas, check out: https://nowboarding.ca/2018/12/31/2019-resolutions/
Look around. What do you see? Chaos or peace? Yelling or praying? What is surrounding you?
. . .
Do you appreciate it all?
Or do you take advantage of it?
Are you humbled by it?
Or are you overlooking it all?
Do you care about others?
Or, do you say:
“Everyone for themselves!”
“You gotta make your own life!”
Are you a helper?
Or, a hater?
Do you appreciate the world we live in?
Or, do you constantly think it’s trash;
That we created,
And, you don’t think it can be cleaned up.
Are you an optimist?
Or, a pessimist?
Where do you draw the line?
Between, good and bad?
. . .
Where SHOULD we draw the line?
Between, good and bad?
What defines “good”?
What makes something “bad”?
Is it in the perspective?
Or, is it just a fact?
Why are some things considered “good”?
And, other things considered “bad”?
Between killing and loving?
We know which is better,
by the way it feels.
But, what about?
Between loving or helping?
They both feel “good”..
But, can they really both BE “good”?
Think about it this way:
Some people don’t want help,
So, that’s their “bad” one; while others –
Don’t like love because they’ve never truly felt it.
So, can some things be, both, good and bad?
Is it really just all in the perspective of the person?
. . .
There’s never just one way to look at something. There’s always a different perspective. There will always be someone with a different opinion, and, that’s what makes life so great & interesting. Meeting people with different perspectives, and, learning about their views on life.
That’s why I love to travel. It makes me feel so blessed. And, happy. And, accomplished.
I want to learn, and experience as many perspectives as I can, good and bad. So, I can see the world through a different type of blessed, and see how truly blessed I am.
Thanks for reading!
I hope this post inspired you to never take life for granted, and to:
“It’s a big world out there!” . “Wow, what a small world!” . ^ Two very different sayings that, somehow, both make sense!
Here’s a “poem” that I wrote, trying to explain that fact:
The world is huge
There’s only ONE world
But, it’s a BIG world
7.6 billion people
On ONE “small” planet
And you haven’t even methalf of them!
Think about that!
And you’re here..
In your “small” town,
With MUCH less than a half a tenth of 7.6 billion!
The world is NOT small!
It’s the complete opposite!
At least once!
In your entire lifetime!
Take a plane,
To a foreign country –
Meet new people,
Experience a different culture,
Smell different fresh air,
Feel different heat,
Experience a different way of life!
The other side of the world –
Does not need to be scary.
It can be interesting,
And super exciting!
And, then –
You’ll finally realize –
The real size of the world!
7.6 billion people!
In this “small” –
But, GIGANTIC world!
How is that possible?
That 7.6 billion people can –
Make this world feel small?
The only way to understand this –
Is to go to a foreign country,
And, meet some of those 7.6 billion people!
Thanks for reading!
If 7.6 billion people can live on this planet in “perfect” harmony, I think the world is pretty big! And, all I want to do is travel and meet as many of them as possible, to find out how similar we all really are on this planet we all call earth.
Yes, you! I need YOU! Don’t give up now! This poem is for anyone out there going through a tough time in life right now.
Please, don’t do it!
I know you’re tired!
But, just focus on staying healthy, and keeping your mind fit!
I know it’s exhausting!
It feels like the only way out.
But, have you tried dancing, or singing?
You hear people say:
“Oh, It’s just a phase, you’ll get over it”.
But, we both know, that was so yesterday.
Every time something good happens to you,
You feel totally unworthy of it.
But, that’s definitely not true!
You are AMAZING!
You are IMPORTANT and WANTED!
Things are CHANGING! (for the better)
Life’s not always great.
Trust me, I know!
But, don’t be afraid!
You think: “This is rock bottom.
It can’t get any worse.
I probably can’t even make it to next autumn!”
But, please, erase those thoughts from your mind!
I NEED YOU – I will be your friend and give you the support you need!
I promise, I will always be kind!
So, if you’re at rock bottom now,
The only way to go is up – To the sky!
There may be rain now, but when you get up there, you’ll see a rainbow!
So, continue to hustle everyday!
Become better and happier!
Turn the black darkness to white brightness; or at least semi-bright gray!
Never give up!
I need you here!
WE need you here!
The world needs YOU! – Are we clear?
So, will you stay?
And hustle harder everyday?
I sure hope you do! And, I know many others do to! So, it’s decided. You’re staying! Trust me, you’ll look back on this day, and remember that you succeeded, In your biggest roadblock, you decided to stay! And, you hustled even though you didn’t feel like it! You didn’t give up Even during your darkest days, And that’s something to be SUPER proud of!
Thanks for reading!
I hope this poem encouraged you to keep getting better everyday, and to keep learning & growing each and every day!
The sky… The clouds… The sun… Everything up there…
Just take a second, Go outside, And look up!
Looking up, At the sky, Always makes me feel happy, And rejuvenated.
Seeing planes, birds, jets… It all gives me hope!
That there’s so much more out there –
And, I want to explore it all!
I love the sky! I love to just look at it! I love just BEING up there, And looking down at everything, With a different perspective!
From up there, I can see everything! But, From down here, I only see as far as my eyes let me.
From up there, I can see things I never notice down here.
From up there, My problems seem to fade away – For a while. And I forget my life – Down here…
From up there, Everything seems in its’ perfect place. My mind is at ease – Thinking of my next destination! Looking down at my last destination! Knowing that great adventures are ahead!
From up there, I eagerly wait – To land again – In a new exciting country – Ready to explore a new culture!
From down here, I am constantly looking up, Thinking about when I will be up there again, Because I know – and hope, that it’s soon. So, I continue to look up!
Day after day! Keeping the hope! That something great is in store – To land in a new country! And, look up at the sky with a new perspective!
This “poem” was inspired by the fact that the world is under the same sky!
It’s crazy to think that wherever you are in the world, you are always looking at the same sky.
You can cross the entire world (from North America all the way down to New Zealand) & still be looking up at the same galaxy (same moon, stars, sun, clouds; same everything)! CRAZY!
The countries are vastly different, but one thing always stays consistent; the sky!
That’s one more reason why traveling is so exciting and interesting because you get to experience so many different cultures around the world while staying under the same sky! The world is small because we’re all under the same sky; but, it’s also huge because every country has it’s own culture.
Thanks for reading!
Now, get out there and explore the world; look at the sky from a different country and you’ll have a completely different perspective in life!
“Traveling – It gives you home in thousand strange places, then leaves you a stranger in your own land.”
. . .
You see, feeling homesick in another country, brings back the memories about things missed from home. But, feeling homesick at home, is confusing because you’re home, so you think you should feel fine. But, deep down there’s something missing; it feels like the other country became your “home away from home”. So, no matter where you are, you feel homesick because everywhere you’ve been is home in some way.
“Everywhere feels like home in it’s own way.”
That’s a sign of a well-traveled adventurer — when you feel at home in every country you’ve ever visited!
*Traveling abroad helps you find yourself in so many different countries!*
. . .
Personally, I love traveling so I can learn about new cultures, new languages, discover new places in the world, and discover new things about myself. And, the more I’ve traveled, the more I’ve realized that there is one downside to always wanting to travel and explore the world — *You eventually start to find yourself in all those countries. And, then, when you come home, you feel lost in your own hometown.*
And, that is a difficult, yet inevitable things to adjust to about traveling abroad. When you start to travel abroad, you start to find yourself in other countries & you start to loose yourself at home. But, that’s when you need to realize why traveling is so amazing. One day, you are going to wake up and realize that all your adventures were worth it because you will feel like the whole world has become your home, and you will realize that wherever you are in the world you will feel at home.
When the world starts to feel like your home; that’s when you know that you need to continue to travel — To continue to get to know the world and make international connections, so that whenever you feel homesick from that country, you can go back there as if it were home!
Thanks for reading! Now, get out there & go explore the world & make the world your home!
